Dr. Joanna Lai

Dr. Joanna Lai graduated with Dean’s Honour’s List from the School of Optometry , University of Waterloo. Before practicing in Ontario, she worked closely with several ophthalmologists in Surrey, British Columbia, where she expanded her clinical experiences in performing post-cataract surgery follow-ups, binocular vision training, ocular emergency management, as well as corneal diseases/infections management.

In addition, Dr. Lai has spent time in research with some world-renowned ophthalmologists at the Toronto Western Hospital, where she gained invaluable experiences in the field of advanced glaucoma treatment and in both clinical and research areas.

Dr. Lai has been working in the Bloor-Yorkville area since 2004, and has worked closely with area family physicians, paediatricians, and eye surgeons. She also practices out of Oshawa, Ontario.

She is certified by the Board of Examiners in Optometry in Canada and the use of Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents (TPA) in Canada.

Dr. Lai is fluent in written and spoken English and Mandarin.
